We all have those days when our mood isn’t at its best and optimism seems too distant and out of our reach. It’s easy to assume that highly motivated individuals are immune to such demotivating feelings and they never face demotivation or negative thoughts, but the truth is, even the most positive people experience moments of doubts, discouragement and negative thoughts. We all face those days when our motivation shakes off and negativity creeps in. But we should never be afraid, as it isn’t constant or going to stay for long. I have learned from my own experience and journeys while combatting with demotivating that the power to soar lies within us and nobody can ever take that away from us. The only hurdle between our goals and reality is us. We are the game player and a game changer of our lives. Thus, in this blog, I want to share a powerful truth: we can find motivation even in the midst of demotivating times. Let’s dive in to discover the keys for unlocking our motivation.
Accept and Acknowledge:
The first step in finding motivation amidst demotivating feelings is to acknowledge and accept that we all experience them. It’s okay to have off days and moments of doubt. Always remember that its okay to be not okay and never pressurize yourself for that. By recognizing and embracing these feelings, we can begin to understand ourselves better and take proactive steps towards rekindling our motivation. We can observe and find ways to fuel motivation, when we have demotivating feelings. Like I used to write down what made me feel, the way I was feeling it. Like is it a positive or negative and I would list them down and frame strategies to deal with it.
Reflect and Rediscover:
Take time to reflect on what has brought you motivation in the past. Recall moments when you felt truly inspired and driven. What activities, hobbies, or goals ignited your passion? By reconnecting with those past sources of motivation, you can rediscover what truly matters to you and reignite your inner fire. I always believe that clearing out our mind works as a best remedy, I would love to write about my feelings and create valuable piece from it. It would help me gain my passion and writing about even the difficult times would spark a ray of hope and encouragement within me. I must admit that sometimes even the creative piece written at such demotivating times, sounds like gem created after undergoing deep processing.
Seek Inspiration:
In demotivating times, it’s essential to seek out inspiration from various sources. Engage in activities that uplift your spirits, such as reading inspiring books, listening to motivational podcasts, or watching motivational videos. Surround yourself with positive and like-minded individuals who can inspire and encourage you on your journey. In My case I would specifically read more books, listen to uplifting podcasts that would brighten my spirit and even I have set my playlist of music that I would listen to it for getting particular sort of energy, as all the songs have memory and feelings associated with it.
Set Short Realistic Goals:
When motivation feels at bay, setting realistic but short goals can provide a sense of direction and purpose. Break down your bigger goals into smaller, achievable milestones. Celebrate each milestone as you progress, building momentum and a sense of accomplishment. Remember, even small steps forward can lead to significant transformations. Every journey starts with a single step and a strong determination to move ahead.
Practice Self-Care:
Taking care of yourself is crucial especially when you’re feeling demotivated. Prioritize self-care activities that nurture your well-being, such as getting enough sleep, eating nutritious meals, and engaging in activities that bring you joy. Taking care of your physical and mental health creates a solid foundation for motivation to flourish. At such times particularly I would never miss on my daily workout routines and would also spent some time in open lawn, to connect to mother earth, nature and fill the energy boost. I would be particular about my sleep hours and would eat at proper intervals planned. In short, my those days are quite very much planned and I stick to it to feel better and encouraging myself to do the best I can for myself.
Conclusion:
Even the most optimistic individuals face demotivating feelings from time to time. However, by accepting and acknowledging these emotions, reflecting on past sources of motivation, seeking inspiration, setting realistic goals, and practicing self-care, we can reignite our motivation and rise above those challenging moments. Remember, it’s okay to have off days; what matters is how we respond to them. Embrace the roller coaster of emotions, for within its twists and turns lies the power to discover our unwavering motivation. Let’s navigate this journey together, supporting and inspiring one another as we reach new heights of personal growth and achievement.
