Today, is indeed a beautiful morning, As I got to meet my dear friend, Jessica, for a delightful breakfast at our favorite cafe. It had been quite a while since we caught up on our recent life chats, reads and discussed our life through books we couldn’t wait to get our hands on. Our passion for reading was a bond that had strengthened since our school days when we were part of a book club that introduced us to timeless classics and varied genre of books. We both often use to enjoy reading fiction as well as non-fiction books. We used to get our hands on some of the best self-help books that use to be a ray of hope and enlightenment during challenging days of teenage.
As we sipped our coffees, Jessica excitedly shared her long TBR (To Be Read) list, and I couldn’t help but get equally thrilled about the thought of exploring new literary treasures. Amidst our chatter about mysteries, fantasies, and thrillers, we somehow circled back to the books that had profoundly impacted us—the evergreen classics that stood the test of time.
Then all of sudden she said “Do you remember that self-help book we read during our book club days?” Jessica’s asked question had the twinkle in her eye and I exactly knew what she was pointing at. Then she further added “The one that left an everlasting mark on us and continues to inspire us even now?”
I smiled brightly as I already knew the answer she was expecting and was constantly referring to. It was James Allen’s “As a Man Thinketh,” a small yet incredibly powerful book that explored the influence of our thoughts on our lives. It was a book that had sparked the flames of motivation and inspiration within us, leaving us with an unwavering belief in the power of positive thinking.
Now having said that and enough of my morning description, I would like to take you back to my blog, whose sole inspiration is the beautiful morning encounter and James Allen book – “As a Man Thinketh”.
