The Happiness Code

What is happiness? How does it feel to be happy? What brings happiness? How to be happy? If we start with one, there are innumerable questions that surround the word ‘happiness,’ and these are just basic questions. So what exactly does real happiness look like? How can one pursue it, and what is the little truth about happiness?

Real happiness isn’t just about momentary joy, fun, or even material possessions. In fact, it comes from within and resides within us. It is rooted in our thoughts, feelings, and actions. When we understand this simple code that decodes happiness, we can let go of outside pressure and expectations that hinder our way, to find true happiness and lasting joy.

The search for happiness within starts with embracing ourselves and being true to ourselves. As they say, ‘Inner fulfillment is the key to long-term happiness.’ What if our inner self doesn’t align with the life we are living? If our core values, passions, and purpose don’t match with our way of living and who we are from within, it will never provide us the peace we require. In short, we won’t be happy, and we would crib about our living. When we embrace who we really are and do things that make us happy and fulfilled, we unlock a special kind of happiness that fills every part of our lives.

After knowing and accepting our true selves, by just being ourselves, we can utilize other components that can boost our happiness and make it more fulfilling. The two most important tools that can boost happiness are gratitude and mindfulness. Gratitude helps us appreciate the good things in life and brings a positive perspective. Mindfulness helps us fully enjoy the present moment, appreciating little joys and finding joy in everyday experiences of life. Thus, by practicing gratitude and mindfulness, we can bring more happiness into our lives that can last long.

As we know, humans are social animals. We are keen to make relationships and be social. But we can’t harvest happiness by merely making relationships. It is only when we make meaningful relationships and invest in real connections that, in return, nurture long-term healthy relationships. We feel a sense of belonging, support, and love. Thus, by building strong bonds with others, we can bring happiness and well-being into our lives.

Last but not least, we must not forget to take care of ourselves. Remember the very first step when we started to seek happiness, we looked deep within ourselves. Now, to nurture that self, we must start taking care of ourselves and growing as individuals. It is important for our happiness. Therefore, when we invest our time in prioritizing self-care, we feel better physically, emotionally, and mentally. Engaging in activities that help us grow, like learning new things or pursuing our goals, brings a sense of accomplishment and happiness.

As we wrap up our journey of pursuing our happiness, remember that it is an ongoing adventure that never stops. Now, with our understanding that true happiness comes from within, being true to ourselves, practicing tools like gratitude and mindfulness to boost happiness, building meaningful connections that last longer and become stronger with time, and taking care of ourselves while growing, we can bring more happiness into our lives. So now it’s time to embark on our journey to pursue our happiness.
